Is it just me!!

Hello

As you can probably tell I am novice when it comes to blogging.

About a year ago I stumbled across blogs and ever since have been secretly following several.  I am amazed at how many talented ladies there are out there. Well today I actually wrote my first comment;  Kate from 'Just Pootling' has made the most fabulous crocheted cushions. 

Inside I am bursting with creativity but I am having trouble releasing it. For example I cannot seem to get past the first row when it comes to crocheting.  I keep going back to it only to get frustrated and give up again. Should I persevere with 'you tube' or would I be better to go to a class.

I have also been using Annie Sloane paint but have not found it as easy as it says on the tin.  I am in the middle of painting a sewing box but  think I may substitute clear varnish instead of wax. 

I would love to hear if other people have had problems too or is it just me.

Will I ever get the hang of blogging!!

Well as you can see it has been a while since I last was on.  During this time I have been a busy bee. Firstly I decided to dust off my sewing machine and have a go at making a half apron. I have to say for my first attempt I am really pleased, although one tie is longer than the other and I can't for the life of me see where I went wrong.



It was also my birthday on Monday and I took the day off work and went shopping with my friend Diane in Brighton. We had a lovely day and I even bought some new clothes.

This weekend I am hoping the weather is gong to be nice as I want to spend sone time in the garden weeding my borders and hopefully will manage to get some pale pink heathers for my pots outside the front. (Picture to follow). We are also going to fix the netting properly to prevent the heron from getting to the fish. Out of four fish there is only one left and I feel so sorry for it as it looks lonely, so going to get some more to keep it company.

Well I had better go now as it's getting late.

It's Friday!!

What a lovely day it has been. Sadly I have been working all day but looking forward to a long weekend.

I am going to make the most of it as it seems to go so quickly.  Blondie and little man came round for tea tonight which is always nice. Tomorrow if I am awake early I like to start the day listening to Anneka Rice on radio 2. Then going to legs, bums & tums before coming home to give the house a quick clean. Later going out with friends for a meal and then home Sunday.

Hopefully if I get time in the morning I will ring you. Love to sugar & spice

My first ever post!!!

Hello sis.  Well hopefully if you are reading this you have found my post. 

I can't quite believe that I have actually started by own blog.  I stumbled across blogs several years ago while looking for a cake recipe, and have been hooked ever since.  There are several that I follow religiously and I cannot believe how talented they are.    

Sadly although I love crafting my efforts are no way near to their standards, but I think that sometimes I give up too easily.  For example I have just painted two bedroom side tables in Annie Sloane paint which was fine. However I have not found applying the clear wax as easy and the finish seems to me to be quite patchy (I will take a photo to show you this weekend).
